The treatment process at each facility varies depending upon where the water originates and the regulations and requirements legislated by the local authorities within each area. Waste Water Treatment

Algonquin Water has 13 waste water treatment facilities within the areas served. The waste water treatment process at each facility varies depending upon where the facility is located and the regulations and requirements legislated by the local authorities within each area. The various treatment technologies are used to produce waste water that is safe for the environment in which it is discharged. Waste water quality levels are regulated by local, state, and federal authorities. In some cases, waste water is piped to nearby golf courses where it is held in a reservoirs and used for irrigation of the courses.
